This is the Mexico 66 people picture when they hear the name: a saturated, sunflower yellow leather that reads warm rather than neon, cut by two black stripes that run from the laces to the heel. The black suede toe cap takes the scuffs so the yellow stays clean, and the white sole keeps the whole shoe light.
Designed in 1966 and worn at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, the Mexico 66 is the shoe that introduced the Onitsuka Tiger side stripes. Thin, flexible rubber sole, suede toe cap and heel panel, padded collar, heel flap and a slim last that sits close to the foot. Spare laces in the box. This colorway has a yellow leather upper with black side stripes, a black suede toe cap and heel, and a white rubber sole.
